League winners archive
The record of all league winners and runners-up from the past has been updated here. The eagle-eyed of you will notice that we are missing information for a few years. If you have any old handbooks squirrelled away [your poster found one from 1997/98!] then please let Paul Hawgood know so we can fill in the gaps.
Success in Schools Competition
The Centre Parks National Badminton Schools Competition (County Round) was held at Kingsway Leisure Centre on Friday, 23rd January 2015. Twelve schools attended to battle it out for the top position in age group. St. Helens was represented by Cowley High School (Years 7/8/9) and Rainford High School (Years 10/11). This was Cowley’s first year in the competition and they cruised through to the semi-final, narrowly missing out to the eventual winners West Kirkby Grammar School by 3 games to 2. Rainford on the other hand were runners up in the final against a very strong Merchant Taylor team. Well done girls! Looking forward to the boys competition on 6th February 2015! Good luck to Rainford who have 2 teams representing St Helens!
League Committee Agenda 25/01/15
2014 in review – summary stats relating to the League’s website
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.
Here's an excerpt:
A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 6,800 times in 2014. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 6 trips to carry that many people.
2014/15 Handbook now available
This season’s handbook has now been received from the printers and is being distributed to your club for onward sharing with team members – look out for the ‘cool’ mint cover!
For the first time, the handbook is also available for download from our website
This may lead to a reduction in the number of copies printed in future years – the committee would welcome league members’ views on this.
